Mayhew 1962 Journal 44. Aug. 10 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. We then drove to Glamis by way of 29 Palms, Joshua Tree Natl. Mon., Mecca & Brawly. We began looking for lizards between the canals at 1610. We made one pass through the area (until 1710) without seeing a lizard. Apparently it still was too hot for them to come out. We looked for lizards in the dunes from 1720 to 1855 (sundown -1830). We might collected from 1930 to 2100 (1 round trip from Glamis to Highline Canal). Our total catch in the Glamis area today: Uma notata-12 (6♂, 4♀, 2im)(2 released) Urosaurus graciosa-12 (5♂, 6♀, 1im) (1 released) Coleonyx variegatus -2 (1♂, 1im) Minimum temp. tonight-80°F. Aug. 11 We awoke at 0545 and ate breakfast. We looked for lizards along the road from 0630 to 1015. However, we didn't capture many lizards. Our catch this morning: Uma notata-2 (1♂, 1im)(1 released) Crotaphytus wislizeni-2 (♀) Dipsoaurus dorsalis-1 (im) (1 released) Phrynosoma micalli -6 (1♀, 5jew)-2 released 3 DOR P. micalli were seen, 2 of which were good enough to be saved.
