Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
Walt Mobley, Dave Reuther & I left
UCR at 0440 for our monthly collecting
trip. We looked for lizards from
0700 to 1140. Few were seen while we
walked over the area, so we drove
slowly down the road. We caught
considerably more animals this way
than we had earlier in the morning.
The area is so dry it is a wonder
any animals have survived there.
However, we were able to capture 37
lizards this morning, as follows:
Uma scoparia - 26(9σ, 14♀, 3im)(4 released)
Dipsosaurus dorsalis - 7 (2σ, 3♀, 2 im)(2 released)
Cystophytus wislizeni - 3(2σ)(1♀)
Callisaurus macrourus - 1(σ)
