Mayhew 1962 Journal 39. July 25 Blue Ridge, Los Angeles Co., Calif. captured 13. Then we drove to Big Pines by way of Phelan. No lizards were seen along this route, although Frank Aubrey & I captured large numbers of S. occidentalis and some S. magister along this route in 1959. We looked for lizards at Blue Ridge from 1200 to 1620. Then we returned to UCR, arriving there at 1755 after a trip of 155 miles. We caught the following animals today: Sceloporus occidentalis - 3 (2♂, 1♀) Sceloporus magister - 13 (8♂, 5♀; 1 im ♀ released) Sceloporus gregarius - 42 (18♂, 24♀) Total 58 (1 released) Aug. 3 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. Pete Allen, Donna Hobbs, Valerie Ernst & I left UCR at 1645. We reached the Highline Canal at 2000 and immediately began to look for Ctenophorus variegatus. We looked until 2130, but saw only 1 adult and 1 juvenile. The weather appeared to be ideal, but no other lizards were seen. Minimum temp. tonight was 56°F. Aug. 4 We arose at 0530 and ate breakfast. We looked for lizards along the road from 0630 to 1050. We were able to make only one round trip between the canals during this time. However, we caught 1 juvenile
