Mayhew 1962 July 21 Journal 38. Glamis, Imperial Co., Calif. We reached UCR at 1520 after a total trip of 4+7 miles. We caught 96 lizards of 7 species, and obtained information from 7 DOR's of 2 species. Also, 19 lizards of 6 species were released after capture & measurement. Those caught were: Cristophytus wislizeni - 3 (♀) Uma ustata - 32(16 ad ♂; 8 ad ♀; 4 imm ♂; 4 imm ♀)(released) Callisaurus draconoides - 8 (4 ad ♂; 3 ad ♀; 1 imm ♂)(released) Colonyx variegatus - 7(5ad ♂; 1 ad ♀; 1 imm ♂) (1 released) Urosaurus graciosa - 25(9 ad ♂; 11 ad ♀; 5 imm)(5 released) Diposaurus dorsalis - 10(4 ad ♂; 3 ad ♀; 3 imm)(3 released) Phrynosoma m'calli - 11 (1ad ♂; 9 ad ♀; 1 imm ♀)(released) Upon dissection in the lab. I found P. m'calli ♂♂ still in apparently full reproductive vigor. Males of the other species, however, seem to be well past reproductive prime for this season. Nearly all had sperm at the terminal end of the vas deferens, but very few of these sperm were still motile. July 25 Hesperia, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Donna Hobbs, Walt Mobley, Dave Reuther & I left UCR at 0610. We reached the collecting area at 0655. We began looking for lizards immediately, & found our first one (Sceloporus magister) at 0700. We looked for S. magister until 1000, by which time we had
