Blue Ridge, Los Angeles Co., Calif.
but we already had a good sample
of this species (22). Consequently, we
caught a few more S. graciosa
for temperature data, then released
them. Only a couple of S. occidentalis
were seen before we left the area
at 1400. We returned to UCR by
way of Crystal Lake and Agusa. The
road from Angellia Crest Highway
to Crystal Lake is finished now, so
that route makes a very scenic
way home. We caught several S.
occidentalis at Crystal Lake as
we passed through the area. We
reached UCR at 1830 after a total
trip of 282 miles. During the trip we
caught the following animals:
Uta stansburiana - 5 (given to Ken Evans)
Phrynosoma coronatum - 2 (given to Ken Evans)
Cnemidophorus tigris - 1 (?)
Colonyx variegatus - 1 (?)
Sceloporus occidentalis - 9 (7 ad ?; 1 ad ?, 1 im ?- released)
Sceloporus graciosa - 26 (20 ?, 6 ? - 4 ? released)
Sceloporus magister - 30 (12 ad ?, 10 ad ?, 2 ad? ?,
6 ad? ? - 1 ? released)
Total 74 (7 species)
We kept 61 (for reproductive data)
of 5 species. Those will be dissected
when we reach the lab.
