Mayhew 1962 Journal 24. May 24 Palm Springs, Riverside Co., Calif. for UCR, which I reached at 1350. The trip covered 139 miles. I caught the following animals: Uma inornata - 8 (7?, 1♀) Dipsosepsa dorsalis - 7 (5?, 2 ♀) June 3 Idyllwild area, Riverside Co., Calif. I was able to capture several lizards today while on a work party at Azalea Trails Girl Scout Camp (11 mi. N. of Idyllwild). Bobby, Bruce and I hauled garbage and junk from the camp to the dump south of Bluebird Hill (S. of Idyllwild) in our pick-up. Each time we drove the dirt road leading to the camp we caught a few lizards. At the end of the work party we stayed at the camp and caught some more lizards. In all, the 3 of us cought 25 lizards of 3 species. The 2 immatures were released, so we returned with 23 lizards, as follows: Sceloporus gracivus - 21(1?, 9 ♀) (1 imm. released) Sceloporus occidentalis - 1? (1 imm. released) Uta stansburiana - 1? Two Sceloporus orcutti were seen at Dark Canyon Campground (elevation 6000 ft.), but we couldn't catch them. We quit looking for lizards at 1600. (elev. - 6800 ft.)
