April 24
Palm Springs area, Riverside Co., Calif.
I left home at 0700 to get a
monthly sample here. I began looking
for animals at 0805 along Vista
Chino Ave. The first animal seen
(Uta insignata) was at 0840. Not too
many Uta were seen, either along
Vista Chino or in Palm Springs Panorama.
Dipsosaurus became rather abundant
about noon when I returned to Vista
Chino. Maximum temp. I recorded today
was only 33°C. Two DOR Crotalus
cerastes were seen. One DOR Phrynosoma
micelli or +1 DOR Dipsosaurus dorsalis
or were in good enough shape to save.
