April 7 Algodones Dunes, W. of Glamis, Imperial Co., Calif.
A trip by dunebuggy was made approximately 6 miles north of Highway 78 on the west side of the dunes, then across the dunes to the eastern edge. Then this route was retraced roughly over the same course back to Highway 78. Oenothera deltoides are very abundant in the low areas of the dunes. Some Hesperocalia undulata are over 5 feet tall this year. Abrota villosa was abundant when I was here on February 2 (1973), but has largely disappeared by now.
