June 4 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif.
We collected additional Uma notata
from 1140 to 1245, then again from
1415 to 1530. Then we looked for P.
m'calli again from 1620 to 1730. One
additional horned lizard was found
during this period. No DOR P. m'calli
were seen today. At 1730 we headed
for the Ocotillo Well (San Diego Co.)
area, which we reached at 1900.
June 5 Ocotillo Well area, San Diego Co., Calif.
We looked for P. m'calli (from
2 miles south of Ocotillo Well to
the Anza-Borrego State Park boundary)
from 0655 to 1000. We found 6 live
oves (no DOR) during this interval. Then
we headed home by way of Warner's
Hot Springs. We checked the cliff
swallow colony 3.3 miles south of
Warner's, but we didn't bring any
young birds back because they had
just hatched. We reached UCR at 1420
after a trip of 482 miles. We captured 63
animals of 7 species on the trip, as follows:
Uma notata - 26
Urosaurus gracilis - 9
Colonyx variegatus - 9
Phrynosoma m'calli - 16
Sauromalus obesus - 1
arizona elegans - 1
Chionactis occipitalis - 1
