June 3
Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif.
Two live P. m'calli that I had
used for an experiment were released
11 miles west of Glamis. They were
toe-clipped # 112 (0?) and # 128 (?).
Thus, 40 P. m'calli have been
released thus far in 1964(3 in 1962).
We made only one pass between the
canals at this time (to 1200). However,
we looked for P. m'calli again from
1540 to 1700. We found 1 additional
DOR P. m'calli, but no live ones.
At 1700 we drove to the dunes
to get a collection of Uma notata
and Urosaurus graciosus. We
captured them between 1700 and 1815.
Then we collected Colonyx variegatus
between Glamis and the Highline
Canal - along the Ben Hulse Highway
(Imperial Co. S 78; Brawley-Blythe Highway)
from 1930 to 2205. We captured 9
during the evening.
June 4
We looked for P. m'calli between
the canals from 0700 to 1030. During
this period we caught an adult
Arizona elegans on the road 8 miles
west of Glamis (at 0705). We caught
7 live P. m'calli during this interval.
In the meantime Shirley Hill donated
2 P. m'calli to the cause that she
had captured the previous day.
