Don Hunsaker had his class from
San Diego State out to the dunes
on March 25th. He reported only one
Phrynosoma micelli (about 9 mi. W. of
Glamis) seen during the trip. No Colonyx

I left UCR at 1335 with the field
zoology class. We reached the Glamis
area at 1720. We began night collecting
at 1915, and at least one of the two
vehicles was on the road until
0030. I collected the Colonyx variegatus
I needed for a monthly sample (15 animals)
and we toe-clipped & released the
rest of them that we caught. 25
were toe-clipped tonight, making a total
of 40 animals captured tonight. Five
Cistalus cerastes were seen tonight
also. Two Chionactis occipitalis wer
also collected on the road. The
minimum temp. tonight was 72°F.
