Mayhew 1963 Journal 39. Sept. 10 San Gabriel Mts., Los Angeles Co., Calif. I left UCR at 1200 to get a sample of Sceloporus graciosus for this month from these mountains. I collected in the usual location at Blue Ridge. I looked for lizards from 1320 to 1520. Lizards were conspicuous by their absence this afternoon. They were not nearly as numerous today as they were in the San Bernardino Mts. last Saturday (Sept. 7) afternoon. For example, on Sept. 7 I caught 21 lizards during this same time period, and saw at least that many more I was unable to capture. Today, however, I captured only 7, and saw only about 10 other adults. In addition about 6 juveniles were seen today. I returned to UCR at 1610 after a trip of 106 miles. Sept. 17 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. Lon McClanahan, Valerie Ernst & I left UCR at 2145 in response to a phone call from Glamis that it had started to rain down there. sept. 18 We reached Glamis at 0135 and immediately began to look for Sceloporus couchi. A great deal of rain (1.70 inches) had fallen that evening (between 1600 and 1900), but
