16.
April 12 Dale Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
and blooming. I don't know why we
didn't see more reptiles. There were
many more to be seen last month
than this month. We returned to
UCR at 1845 after driving 156 miles
today, +329 miles for the entire
trip.
We captured the following animals
during the entire trip:
Uma inornata - 20
Phrynosoma mcalli - 1
Diposaurus dorsalis - 13
Uma scoparia - 20
Total = 54
April 16 Mira Loma area, Riverside Co., Calif.
Between 1230 + 1300 today I released an
additional 87 Uma spp. on 4 dunes.
This makes a total of 142 Uma
released now on 5 different dunes.
(U. scoparia have been released on dune
#1, 2, & 5). The weather was slightly
overcast, & the air temp. was rather
cool. The rain Sunday has packed
the sand pretty well, so these lizards
were not able to bury very well
yet. Dune #5, which I used for the
first time today, is about 1/4 mi. north
of Riverside Ave. on Haven ave. This is over
1/4 mi. NW of Dune #4, & approximately 1/2 mi.
