Mayhew 1963 Journal 13. April 9 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. We captured the following lizards on this trip: Uma notata - 46 Phrynosoma m'calli - 12 Callisaurus draconoides - 1 Total = 98 Coleonyx variegatus - 15 Urosaurus graciosa - 14 Dipsosaurus dorsalis - 10 April 11 Palm Springs, Riverside Co., Calif. Ron Oshima & I left UCR at 0850 to collect Uma. We reached Palm Springs at 1000 & immediately began to look for lizards. We continued to look until 1645. During this period we caught 2 Dipsosaurus dorsalis (only saw one other), 1 Phrynosoma m'calli, & 20 Uma inornata. All but the Dipsosaurus were caught in Palm Springs Panorama. The weather today was ideal: no clouds or wind, max. air temp. about 29°C. Few Uma were seen in the morning, & those that were seen were spooky as the dickens. We finally caught the first Uma at 1135, a total of 75 Uma were seen today, nearly all of which were seen in the Panorama. As we were leaving Palm Springs, we saw a sign on some property on Indian Ave. that offered to sell the land - 200ft. x 370ft. (74,000 ft²) for $95,000!!! We had to drive back to get a better look at the sign - we couldn't (~1½ acres)
