Mayhew 1963 Journal 9. Mar. 22 Mira Loma, Riverside Co., Calif. are just across the line in San Bernardino Co. Dune #1 occurs almost on the county line like #2. There seems to be an awful lot of traffic on the roads past dunes # 1, 2, and 4, but very little past #3. April 5 Gran Desierto Trip, Sonora, Mexico Pete Allen, Herb Brown, Dennis Miller & I left UCR at 1120 to collect as many Phrynosoma m'calli as we could find for an experiment I want to set up. We drove first to the Algodones Dunes west of Elamio. We reached the Highline Canal at 1445 and made one rapid pass between the canals. We saw 3 DOR P. m'calli, but no live ones. The only live lizards we saw on that stretch of road were 3 Callisaurus draconoides. We began walking in the dunes at 1515, looking for Uroa notata & Urosaurus graciosa. Between then and 1735 we captured 3 Urosaurus (only one we saw) and 34 Uroa. Then we drove into Arizona & camped about 2 miles north of the Mexican border at San Luis. We drove 266 miles today. April 6 We arose at 0715 and ate breakfast. We crossed the border at San Luis
