Journal Mayhew 1962 Sept. 16 Glamis, Imperial Co., Calif. was seen. We reached UCR at 1600 after a trip of 449 miles. We captured a total of 70 lizards ( 4 species), as follows: Coleonyx variegatus - 6 Phymosoma micalli - 3 (+ 4 DOR) Uma notata - 35 Urosaurus graciosa - 26 However, many of these were juvenile lizards, so were simply measured and released. Consequently, only 33 lizards were brought back for dissection for the reproductive investigation, as follows: Coleonyx - 3 P. micalli - 2 U. notata - 8 Urosaurus - 20 Urosaurus graciosa appeared to contain the largest adult population in that area at the present time. Lots of juvenile Uma notata were seen, but very few adults. Some Uma was found up in the rocks again this trip. Eriogonum deserticola and Helianthus tephrodes both were in bloom this trip. Eriogonum looked particularly good at this time. Some Ciston californica also was in good shape.
