Sept. 11
Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
dorsalis along Vista Chino. I looked
for Uma from 1515 to 1530, and for
Diposaurus from 1530 to 1600.
I reached UCR at 1700 after a
trip of 252 miles.
There were very few tracks at any
of these locations to indicate that
many animals had been active
there recently.
Sept. 14
Glamis, Imperial Co., Calif.
Howard Yorke, Valerie Ernst, Susan
Larisch & I left UCR at 1650 for
the September collecting trip. We
reached the Highline Canal at 2100
and immediately began to look for
Colonyx variegatus along the road.
None were seen, however, on the first
pass, so we stopped for the night
on the big dune at 2130. The minimum
temp. tonight was 76° F.
Sept. 15
We arose at 0600 and ate breakfast.
Then we drove the road between the two
canals, looking for Phrynosoma m'calli,
from 0715 to 0940. Three live and 2
DOR's were all that were seen during
this period. Lizards were very scarce
along the road this morning - we
saw only 1 immature Diposaurus
dorsalis, 2 juvenile Uma notata,
