1993 Walter D Koenig 1994 1995 1996 Melanerpes forficivorus SOBO H.N.H.R. 3 February Granary here is virtually, more likely totally, empty. Amazing- how could it have been such a good fall for a lot of the Arnolt and 50 bat over on this corner? No sign of any birds, either. Presumably group has abandoned. 28 April 815. Looked around for a nest and/or sign of birds; no luck. 12 May 1020. Still no sign of life here. 18 May 1145. Continued deadness here. 1150. Wait! Some walks off to the side...? 17 June 1010. Nothing. 1994 4 February 1330. Granary here is empty. Territory would appear to still be deserted. 11 April 900. No sign of stores or birds here. Artificial nest cavity still looks fine, however. 1995 30 May No sign of anyone here- 1996 9 January 1440. No intact acorns here, but there are 50 or so shells that look like they've been eaten relatively recently. I think there might even be someone here....
