Tree further out: 117 Hardly lots, but there are definitely birds here storing. 20 April 1400. Bird in the high hole. 21 April 1340. Bird flushed from the low hole this time. Guess I'll wait a bit before bothering to check either of these; possibly they haven't made a final decision yet. By the way, there are a few stored acorns still here! 30 April 1415. Bird in top of tree, but not in either of the holes. 4 May 1300. Bird in low hole in granary: 4 fresh eggs. 14 May 1010. Checked hole: 3 young babies, ~2 do, plus 1 dead baby. So: all hatched, 1 brood reduced already. ELED: ~ 1 May. Bant on or about 3 June. 16 May 1340. In blind watching. 1350.8 (B/R-W(N)) #1608. ②♀ or -ca / M #1998. Breeding pair from last year. Now - any helpers? 1440. ⑧, ⑦ each have made 1 more trip (2 apiece). 1520. Leaving. Total # feeds on back. No sign of anyone besides the pair here, at least at this point. 2 June 1200. Banded & bled the 3 babies here! 4 July 900. None in either of the holes. Stores exhausted. 1994 21 January 1200. Counted stores: Nest tree: 355 ? 565. Tree (snap) further out: 210 Not bad at all for these guys! 13 April 1600. None in any holes, but still stores here! 3 May 1300. Bird in hole! 4 eggs, incubated. Sizes are: (Same holes as usual)
