1997 Walter D Koenig 1998 1999 Melanerpes formicivorus Road 3 HNHR 14 April 1120. Watched here for a couple of hours, not finding anything definitive. There would, however, appear to be 3 birds here. I found one new hole past the R3 turnaround, but otherwise zilch. 20 April 1505. ? in the low sycamore hole near the MacFlat tree! Could this be it? 3 July Stored Atoms remaining in the burned tree on the PO Hill side of the road near the old LiveOak nest tree. 1998 28 April 820. 6 babies 0-1 days old! (No eggs) In (low) sycamore hole. Band ~18 May. There are a few stores remaining here, at any rate. 19 May 1500. Banded the 4 babies, #2975-2978. 1999 19 April Stores in the MacFlat nest tree. 6 July Stores: Yes. See Joey's notes about the missed nest here, which was apparently in the high hole over toward Finch. I saw a kid in it about 2 weeks ago, but a night ambush yielded zilch. Joey then ambushed and caught 4 fledglings!
