1994 1995 1996 Walter D Koenig Melanerpes famicivorus Road 1 HNHR (14April) 1050. No good sign of anything, although there seemed to be several potentially suspicious trips over to Finch, possibly beyond the Sycamore granary somewhere. Still stores in the main tree. 18 April 1615. Bird in hole (found by Katy). 19 April 1600. Mark checked hole (½way up in small sycamore over on far side of creek by Finch's area): 3 eggs, quite fresh. ① 24.8×19.5 ② 24.3×19.7 ③ 24.7×19.5. 1995 31 May 1330. Banded & bled the 4 kids here. 26 June 1530. None in any holes. Also, stores gone, or nearly so. There may be a very few left in the main granary, but most look like shells. 1996 4 January 1445. Counted stores: "Main" VO: 75 Spintly VO across creek: 55 } 130. Not much, to be sure, but enough that I'm confident there are a few birds hanging on here!
