1997 Wolfrd Koenig 1998 1999 Melanerpes formicivorus MPHF HNHR 19 February 2100. Ambushed the traditional nest hole here, nabbing all 3 breeders but not the NOBA helper. Bummer. Tree is positively packed with acorns here. 30 June 1540. Bird in the traditional hole: 2 eggs(!), incubated. Sizes:① 26.3 × 20.2 ② 26.3 × 19.2. Plenty of stores left here. 24 July 1500. Banded & 6 led to 2 kids. 1998 30 April 940. Noone in any holes, but stores remaining here. 1999 14 January 2100. Finally got a bird - a 2Y ♀ (NOBA) in the (old) nest hole in the main granary. Presumably she's from a missed 2nd nest last summer..? Lots of stores here, by the way. 20 April Plenty of stores, both here and in the MPH tree (Which is presumably MPHFs, unless there are 2 groups here again). 26 May 1445. Opened the (new) hole, in a dead limb in a new Valley Oak facing the road. Eggs, incubated. ① 24.9 × 20.0 ② 26.2 × 20.4.
