1995 1996 Walter D. Foering Melanerpes formicivorus Gazebo H.N.H.R. 12 April 1520. Checked holes. Also, there are stores here, but not very many - possibly only a few hundred. 28 June Out of stores here. 1996 5 January 1445. Granary areas are at least 1/3-full here; not too bad, considering. 8 May 1530. Bird in hole: 7 eggs (1 rnut), fresh. Measured them all: ① 25.8 x 19.5 ② 24.2 x 19.0 ③ 26.4 x 20.4, ④ 23.9 x 19.1 ⑤ 25.0 x 19.5 ⑥ 19.7 x 15.0 <runt> ⑦ 25.6 x 20.0. 12 August 1030. Joey saw a bird in the hole this morning, so we checked it: 9 eggs (including a runt), fairly fresh! The 1st real fall nest! Est LED: 10 August. For measurements (of 2 eggs) see Joey's notes. I removed the runt egg, by the way.
