May 21 Mojave Desert, San Bernardino Co., Calif. way well: Dipsosaurus dorsalis Phrynosoma platyline Cnemidophorus tigris Crotaphytus wicklgeri After leaving Lucerne Valley, we stopped for a bit near Giant Rock, where we caught: Uta stansburiana Sauromalus obesus Cnemidophorus tigris Between 29 Palms & Dale Dry Lake we saw: Salvadora hislopio Uma scsparia Mockingbird Lesser nighthawk Barn swallow Swainson's hawk We set up camp at 1830 24 mi. E. of 29 Palms near Dale Dry Lake. We night collected from 1945 to 2305, animals captured were: Phyllorhynchus decurtatus - 3 (+1 DOR) Calyrops variegatus - 3 We also saw: Nestoma sp. Dipsodmys sp. Reithrodontmyssp. animals caught in traps tonight: Nestoma sp. Perognathus sp. Dipsdomys sp. Peromyscus sp. Maximum temp. today was 92° F. Minimum temp. tonight was 53° F. Wind was still blowing occasionally when we went to bed.
