Mayhew 1960 April 13 Journal 25. Colorado Desert, Riverside Co., Calif. Road from 1950 to 2215. 3 Crystalus creastes (one a very small one) were seen on the road during our night collecting, but we didn't bother them. We camped for the night near 1000 Palms. The animals collected today were: Dipsozaurus lorealis - 5 (2 ad ?; 1 im ?; 2 im ♀) Uma notata - 28 (14 ad ?; 9 ad ♀; 1 im ?; 4 im ♀) Uroaaurus graciosa - 8 (4 ad ?; 2 ad ♀; 1 ad ?; 1 im ?) Uta stansburiana - 1 (ad ?) Crystalus wiesigeni - 1 (ad ?) Phrynozoma mi'calli - 1 (ad ♀) Coleonyx variegatus - 2 (ad ?) Total - 46 Maximum temp. today was 93°F., minimum temp. tonight was 54°F. We drove 144 miles. Apr. 14 We arose at 0645, after breakfast we drove along the old highway, between 1000 Palms to Garnet, looking for reptiles. 3 Phrynozoma platykinos (ad ?), 1 Uta stansburiana (ad ?) + Uroaaurus graciosa (ad ?) were caught along the road. Then we drove to our collecting site 3 miles N.W. of Palm Springs. By the time we arrived, the wind was blowing rather hard. Animals was hard to find and even harder to capture in the wind. Therefore, we returned to Palm Springs and found no wind blowing. We collected along Vista Chino
