journal S. orcutti. They were measured,
their temperatures recorded, & they were
brought back to be released beside
LSB on the UCR campus. The air temp.
(1 meter) varied from 19.0°C. (when I reached
the site) to 17.2°C. (when I left). S.
ocutti were seen at both air temp. I
returned to UCR at 1530 (left Val
Verde at 1515) after a trip of 30 miles.

None of the Phrynosoma m'calli
show any appreciable appetite any
longer, in contrast to the 3 species
of Uma + Dipsozaurus dorsalis
that are being held in similar cages
under similar conditions nearby.
The Uma inornata in the 24 hour
incubation cage were moved into the 24
hour growth cage with Dipsozaurus
dorsalis & a few young Uma spp. Otherwise,
I couldn't tell whether U. inornata laid
any eggs or not. Temperature condition
are very similar in the 2 cages
(see below), & lights are on for 24
hours in both cages. Therefore, these
animals should develop in the same
manner. It also reduces the number
of animals in the Uma cage now only
29 (15 U. notata, 14 U. scoparia).
