Mayhew 1961 Journal 90. Oct. 10 Palm Springs area, Riverside Co., Calif. We looked for lizards from then to 1500, but saw very few. After leaving the Panorama, we went to the Ranch Country Club by way of Vista Chino. We captured 6 more Uma inornata and one adult Dipsosaurus dorsalis. This is the first adult of this species that we have captured in October. Usually all the adults are hibernating by this time. We saw tracks of several young Dipsosaurs, but we could find no young animals of this species. We returned to UCR at 1610 after a trip of 119 miles today. We caught a total of [illegible] Uma inornata, 7 of which were released, and 1 Dipsosaurus dorsalis. We saw 2 Callisaurus draconoides, but were unable to capture either of them. Oct. 12 Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Walt Mobely & I left UCR at 0720 for our monthly collecting trip. We looked for lizards from 0920 to 1230 in the vicinity of the old pump house about 2 miles west of the Iron Age Mine Road. Adult animals were reasonably abundant in this location. However, young animals were very scarce - I saw one juvenile on (Uma scorpia)
