Mayhew 1961 Oct. 7 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. Before we finished, we had captured 5 Uma at this location. We looked for Phrynosoma nicolli along the road from 1600 to 1630. The sand was blowing so hard, however, that we weren't surprised when we didn't find any. The road was hard to see in spots because of the moving sand. We might collected on the road from 1845 to 1940 (16 miles) without seeing any reptiles. The wind was still blowing quite hard during this period. We camped in the same gravel pit at 1940. Today we caught 80 animals, as follows: Diposaurus - 2 Urosaurus - 8 Phrynosoma nicolli - 5 Callisaurus - 3 Uma notata - 62 Oct. 8 We arose at 0800. The wind was still blowing hard, and it was rather cold, so we simply stayed in our sleeping bags. We weighed, measured, & toe-clipped 2 juvenile Urosaurus graciosae and 27 Uma notata for release at our usual collecting site. Then we looked for marked liguda at this site from 1015 to 1150. Two marked ones were captured, as well as 16 unmarked ones. These animals were !
