Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif.
and I caught 6 Urosaurus graciosa
and 4-5 Uma notata. Then, during
the morning we combined to catch:
5 Phrynosoma m'calli
8 Urosaurus graciosa
2 Dipsosaurus dorsalis
56 Uma notata
(4 species)
The air temp (36°) when we quit (1300) was
35.4°C. The wind began to blow about
1200, and by the time Bill & I reached
the Travelall, the wind was blowing
rather hard.
Then we drove to the S.P. railroad
siding at Ruthven (5 miles south of
Glamis) to check on a reported lake
site near the dunes. This potential
lake isn't nearly as nice as the
one we visited ~ 5 miles north of
Glamis last month. We caught 2
juv. Callisaurus draconodes & 1
adult of this species, as well as 1 ad.
Uma notata at this site before the
wind-blown sand chased us out of the
area. We left this site at 1430, and
returned to the road through the dunes.
The sand was blowing hard by this
time, but we saw a Uma notata in
the open, so we stopped to catch it.
