Mayhew 1961 Journal 72. Sept. 8 UCR, Riverside Co., Calif. This morning I shipped the following animals to Calvin De Witt at the University of Michigan: 1 Uma insignata 1 Urosaurus graciosa 1 Uma notata 1 Uma scoparia 1 Callisaurus draconoides 1 Phrynosoma coronatum 1 Phrynosoma m'calli These are animals I promised him earlier for an experiment he is conducting. Unfortunately, these are all iguanids, but perhaps I can send some specimens of other families later. Sept. 11 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. Walt Mobely & I left UCR at 1200 for Glamis as our first stop on the September collecting trip. We reached the Alilne Canal east of Brawley at 1540 and immediately began looking for Phrynosoma m'calli along the road. At this time the air temp. (36°) was 38.8°C. There was no wind, but it was about 30% over- cast (thunderheads over the Colorado River & Sierra Juarez). We made one pass through to the Coachella Canal before sundown. We quit at 1750 (sundown at 1755).
