Mayhew 1960 Journal 13. Mar. 8 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. entirely tolerable to these animals later in the season. The maximum soil surface temp. we recorded today was only 49.6° C., which also is tolerated by these lizards later in the year. 50 animals were caught on the trip. Plants in bloom in the clunes are: Palafopia linearis Helianthus tephrodes Croton californica We left the collecting area at 1435 after eating lunch. Plants in bloom between dunes & highway end: Oenothera deltoides Oenothera claviformis Dithyrea californica Hesperocallis undulata Abronia villosum Larrea diviricata Cryptantha or Plagiosbothys Palafopia linearis Mentzelia Nama hispidum Erisgonum sp. Plantago 3 unidentified species We reached UCR at 1855, after a trip of 168 miles today & 491 miles for the entire trip. We are quite pleased with the way the '60 Nash station wagon performed on this trip.
