entirely tolerable to these animals later
in the season. The maximum soil surface
temp. we recorded today was only 49.6° C.,
which also is tolerated by these lizards
later in the year. 50 animals were caught on the trip.

We reached UCR at 1855, after a
trip of 168 miles today & 491 miles for
the entire trip. We are quite pleased
with the way the '60 Nash station wagon
performed on this trip.
