Mayhew 1961 Journal 56. July 21 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. junval Callisaurus draconoides and 1 junval Phrynosoma m'calli were seen this afternoon. These are the first juniavls of both species seen this year. We quit looking for diurnal reptiles at 1900. After eating dinner we began night collecting at 2045, and looked for reptiles until 2215. Two adult Culeonyx variegatus were all that were seen (13 miles driven day collecting, 31 miles driven night collecting). The weather was quite nice this afternoon. maximum temp. today was 103°F. The minimum temp. tonight was 80°F. July 22 at 0030 Bill Threadell, Ed Eberle, & Ken Osgood arrived from UCR. We arose at 0430 and began looking for Phrynosoma m'calli on the road at 0445 (sunrise at 0450). I spent the next 14 hours driving the 7 miles between the Highline & Coachella Canals looking for reptiles. I stopped only long enough to moisture the collecting cars occasionally, pick up animals along the road, and scribble notes. Most of this time I drove at 5-10 miles per hour, but during the middle of the day I
