Uma scoparia was seen at 1000, the
last adult Diposaurus dorsalis was
seen at 1030. We returned to UCR at
1335 with the following animals:
Uma scoparia - 15 (683,99)
Diposaurus dorsalis-13
Urosaurus graciosa-3
Crotaphytus wilizeni-1
Callisaurus draconoides-1
Sauromalus obesus-1 (juv.)
We drove 287 miles on this trip.
June 19
Palm Springs area, Riverside Co., Calif.
Walt Moberly & I left UCR at 0510
for our monthly collecting trip to this
region. We reached "Graddaddy Dune" at
0615 and began looking for lizards at
0620. At that time the air temp. (30") was
32.0°C. Several juvenil(?)Uma inornata
were captured, but only one adult Uma
was seen by 0730. The Larrea divaricata
looks very bad at this location, there
are few rodent burrows remaining beneath
the plants, and almost no tracks of
adult lizards. Therefore, we felt we might
catch more animals in another location.
