Southwestern Arizona
over fairly good dirt road to Agua Caliente, then south back onto Highway 80 at Sentinel. Almost no lizards were seen in this entire stretch. We returned to Yuma, then crossed back into California about 2130. Southeastern Imperial Co., Calif.
We night collected from Winterhaven, through BARD, to Laguna Dam. This is all agricultural land. We collected 2 Bufo woodhousii & 1 Bufo alvarius, but saw nothing else. We camped 7 miles south of Picacho Camp, after night collecting over 94 miles of road from 1905 to 2315 (some in Arizona). We drove 277 miles today.
June 7
We drove to Picacho Camp, along the shore of the Colorado River, this morning. Then we returned to Winterhaven. The country to & from Picacho was quite pretty, but yielded few animals (we caught 3 Sceloporus obesus & 1 Uta stansburiana, & saw 1 Crotaphytus collaris). From Winterhaven we drove through Ogilby to Elamio, where we ate lunch, then began to look for lizards in & near the Algodones Dunes. I started looking along the road at 1430 while Walt & Steve had a swim in the Coachella Canal. At this time
