It was interesting to note that relatively few young animals were seen today. We left the collecting site at 14:10. Plants seen in Olsom between Dale Dry Lake & 29 Palms were as follows: Dithyrea californica a borage Oenothera deltoides Astragalus sp. Alonia villosum Lupinus sp. Isomiris arborea Brassica sp. Rafinesquia californica Hymenoclea salsola 2 unidentified Malacothrix californica species. Nama lemiscohum Oenothera claviformis Plagiosothyx or Cryptantha Oenothera triplex Many of the hillsides in the southern portion of Joshua Tree Natl. Monument were bright yellow from dense stands of Oenothera triplex. Numerous other plants were in bloom in the same area, but we didn't have time to stop and investigate thoroughly. We reached the Highline Canal east of Brawley at 1830. Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. We began night collecting at 1830, but found only 1 adult of Colymbex verifatus
