Dale Dry Lake area, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
at 0755 I left UCR to return
some of the animals caught last week
end by the field zoology class. These
animals have been weighted, measured (S-v
length), & toe-clipped for marking. 14
young Dipsosaurus dorsalis, 109 young
Uta scoparia, & 17 adult Uta
scoparia were released. On the way
out I drove Vanier Road between Garnet &
1000 Palma, looking for animals. However,
the wind was blowing so hard (20-30 mph)
that no animals were seen for some
time. I drove this road from 0845 to
1025 without catching a thing. A few
Uta insomata were all that were seen.
