Mayhew 1961 Journal 17. Mar. 23 2 mi. S. of UCR, Riverside Co., Calif. We reached the area at 1015, since fog was fairly thick until about 1000. The sun didn't break through until 1015, however. At this time weather conditions were: air temp. (30") - 14.4°C., (1cm) - 20.0°C., soil surf. temp - 33.0°C. 0 wind, 95 % overcast. Between then and 1100, when the fog rolled in again, we caught 6 animals (4 saw 1 juv. S. orcutti): + Sceloporus occidentalis (3 ♂, 1 ♀) 1 Sceloporus orcutti (ad ♀) 1 Uta stansburiana (ad ♂) at that time a 5-8 mph wind from the west arose & the air temp. (30") dropped to 10.8°C. No animals were seen anywhere from then until we returned to UCR at 1130. Mar. 26 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. Dave Young, Ed Eberle, & I left UCR at 0830 today. We stopped on the east edge of Mecca, Riverside Co., Calif. for a few minutes to see if Uma inornata occurred in the sandy areas there. None were seen, but the following animals were captured while we were there: + Diposaurus dorsalis (juv.) 1 Crotaphytus wislizeni (ad ♀) 1 Uta stansburiana (ad ♂) 1 Callisaurus draconoides (ad ♂) at 1200 we drove on toward Glamis.
