Mayhew 1961 Journal 9. Mar. 6 UCR campus, Riverside Co., Calif. temperatures were rather low. At 12:50 weather conditions were: air temp (30") - 16.0°C. air temp.(1cm) - 16.6°C. rock surface temp. - 20.0°C. 100% overcast 0-3 mph wind from NW. A 1/2 grown Sceloporus orcutti was seen in the open on a rock at 13:10. An adult ? Ctenyx variigatus was captured at 13:20 when I turned over a piece of packing case lying on the ground on B area. Several Sceloporus orcutti were seen at 13:25 and at 13:40. One of them (seen at 13:40) was captured. An adult male Uta stansburiana & adult female Sceloporus orcutti were captured shortly before we left the study area at 14:00. No other animals were seen except another several Sceloporus orcutti, at 14:02, as we were leaving the area. At this time the weather conditions were: air temp.(30") - 18.4°C. air temp.(1cm) - 21.0°C. rock surf. temp. - 24.2°C. 100% overcast 0-3 mph wind from NW. We drove 2 miles south of the campus on Canyon Crest Drive. No animals were seen on any of the rocks to our old collecting site at that point. Here we saw 3 Uta stansburiana, but could only catch one. No other animals were seen the rest of the afternoon. We drove on dirt roads over many of the hillsides at
