Mayhew 1961 Journal 8. Feb. 7 UCR campus, Riverside Co., Calif. This afternoon Walt Moberly & I spent some time up on the hills. Not many lizards were active, as the air temp. didn't get above 22.4°C, while we were there (14/10 to 1530). We caught 3 Sceloporus orcutti and saw 3 more. We also saw the following: Cnemidophorus hyperythrus - 1 ad. Sceloporus occidentalis - 1 ad. Uta stansburiana - 3 ad. Feb. 21 Today Walt Moberly & I spent from 0835 to 1045 looking for lizards in A area. The wind, which had been blowing 5-8 mph. picked up to 10-15 mph, about 0950. Even though the temperature wasn't greatly different after that, relatively few animals were seen after that time.
