Mayhew 1960 Journal 69. Oct. 16 Dale Dry Lake area, San Bernardino Co., Calif. until 1020. Then they were rather numerous. at 0930 the weather conditions were: 80% overcast; N.E. wind - 10 to 15 mph. air temp (30") - 19.8°C. '' '' (1cm) - 20.8°C. soil surface temp - 22.8°C. 4+4 animals were captured today, as follows: 36 Uma scoparia (young) 5 Uma scoparia (adult - 2♂, 3♀) 2 Urosaurus graciosa 1 Arizona elegans (young) The 1st adult Uma scoparia was seen at 1135, Bench mark near Iron Age Mine Road - 1336 ft. elev. Dicoria conescera & Dalea emoryi are in bloom here. We left Dale Dry Lake at 1430 and stopped a few moments later at Joseph De Salliers' house to set up a rain gauge. Along the road home we saw the following species in bloom: Leptomeria arborea, Pectis papposa Stephanomeria sp. Eriogonum sp Chrysothamnus sp. Cassia armata We reached UCR at 1755 after driving 114 miles today. We drove 506 miles on the entire trip. 116 animals were caught on the trip: Uma notata - 63 Urosaurus graciosa - 5 Uma scoparia - 4+ Arizona elegans - 1 Phrynosoma nicaelli - 1 Coleonyx variegatus - 5
