Mayhew 1960 Journal 68. Oct. 15 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif. (for Betty Aaron). Other species of plants were in bloom here. Pectis pepposa Mentzelia affinis (?) Palosopia linearis Colerica plicata Travseria dumosea Chicory-type of plant We left the Coachella Canal at 1635. Dale Dry Lake area, San Bernardino Co., Calif. We arrived at Dale Dry Lake at 2025, after driving 172 miles today. I drove off the dirt road at our campsite, so we had to dig until 2200 to get out of the sand. The minimum temp tonight was 52°F. Oct. 16 We awoke at 0800. We checked the two traps near our campsite. A young Arizona elegans was in one trap along with numerous beetles. Nothing but beetles were in the other trap. We looked for lizards from 0930 to 1345. The weather was quite cool (maximum temp. today was 77°F.) & overcast much of the day, so relatively few adult Uma scoparia were seen. Four adults were caught & about 3 or 4 others were seen, & that's all. Lots of young Uma scoparia were seen, however. The first young Uma was seen at 0940, but no other ones were seen
