Oct. 14 Glamis area, Imperial Co., Calif.
Walt Moberly, Bill Thuesdell & I left UCR at 1610 on our monthly collecting trip. We reached the Highline Canal at 1925.
We night-collected between the two canals
from them until 2345. We drove 62 miles
night collecting, & caught the following:
4 Callonvx variegatus (20?, 2?)
1 Phrynosoma m'calli (juv.)
Seen DOR were:
2 Phrynosoma m'calli
2 Callisaurus draconoides
2 Uma notata
1 Crotalus cerastes
1 Salvadora hexalopis
Minimum temp tonight - 50°F.
We drove 210 miles today.
Oct. 15 We arose at 0715. The two traps in the dunes contained a large number of beetles.
They were collected & brought back to UCR
for Charles Papp. Also in these traps were:
2 dead Hadromerus kirchoffi
1 " Crotalus cerastes
3 " Uma notata (juv.) (skulls only)
3 live Uma notata (juv.)
We looked for lizards from 0835 to
1420. The weather was cool & overcast, so
relatively few adult lizards were active.
(Uma)
We saw perhaps a dozen adults besides
the ones we captured. We captured today:
38 young Uma notata
