Mayhew 1960 Journal 63. Sept. 10 Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif. We arrived. We camped at our usual site near Dale Dry Lake. (It had rained very heavily at Glanis on Sunday, Sept. 4th. Some estimated as much as an inch.) We drove 199 miles today. Maximum temp. today was 103°F., minimum temp. tonight was 82°F. Sept. 11 We arose at 0615. We looked for lizards from 0800 to 1130. Not too many animals were seen this morning. Some Dipsoaurnus dorsalis as well as several Uma scoparia were captured. A few animals were still active when we quit at 1130, but they were hard to find and harder to catch, after collecting our soil sample, we left the area at 1205. We reached UCR at 1515. Maximum temp. that we recorded today was 100°F. We drove 112 miles today, and 530 miles on the entire trip. animals caught on this trip were: Uma notata - 30 " scoparia - 17 Dipsoaurus dorsalis - 6 Phrynosoma m'celli - 9 Coleonyx variegatus - 7 Urosaurus graciosa - 9 Callisaurus draconoides - 1 Total - 79
