Sept. 10
Dale Dry Lake, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
We arrived. We camped at our usual
site near Dale Dry Lake. (It had rained
very heavily at Glanis on Sunday, Sept.
4th. Some estimated as much as an inch.)
We drove 199 miles today. Maximum temp.
today was 103°F., minimum temp. tonight
was 82°F.
Sept. 11
We arose at 0615. We looked for
lizards from 0800 to 1130. Not too many

Dipsoaurnus dorsalis as well as several

were still active when we quit at 1130,
but they were hard to find and harder to
catch, after collecting our soil sample,
we left the area at 1205. We reached
UCR at 1515. Maximum temp. that we
recorded today was 100°F. We drove 112
miles today, and 530 miles on the
entire trip.
