In twenty minutes of searching only one Uma was seen and it was very wary, running down a hole before it could be captured. The time was now 1230 and we gave up and returned to UCR. Several hatchling were seen today including 5 Uma inornata, 2 Colliasaurus diaconoides, and 1 Cemidophorus tiguis. Several others were seen but not identified. We arrived at UCR at 1330 after a trip of 101 miles. Total number of animals collected today was 20 including: 8 Dipsoaurus dosalis 8 Uma inornata 4 Colliasaurus diaconoides 1 Phrynosoma mcalli. Maximum temperature was 38°C.
