Thus, 191 animals of 14 species were
cought on the trip. Since 1 had to be
thrown away & 1 escaped, 186 animals were
able to be used.
July 15
Blue Ridge Campgd., San Gabriel Mts., Los Angeles Co., Calif.
Thirteen members of the zoology 113 B class
from the Santa Barbara campus of Univ. of
Calif., Dr. Mary Erickson & I left the
Santa Barbara campus at 15:10 and
drove up to this location for the night.
We arrived about 1930. We set out
mammal traps (12), then ate & went to bed,
after looking at the view of the great
Los Angeles basin from up there.
July 16
We arose at 04:30 & checked the traps.
Only 1 Peromyscus maniculatus was caught.
We looked at birds after breakfast
until 0800. Species seen were:
Cooper's hawk
Pine Siskin
