Cedar Springs area, San Bernardino Co., Calif.

After lunch we drove to the
Hesperia area, where we saw the following:
Kingbird Shrike
Sceloporus occidentalis Xantusia vigilis
Sceloporus magister Masticophis flagellum
Citellus leucurus Crow
Sylvilagus auduboni Lepus californicus
Uta stansburiana
After a brief stop here we drove
to 15 mile point (Granite Mts.), 7 1/2
miles west of Lucerne Valley. We
arrived about 1620, but the temp. was
already dropping, so few animals were
seen: Uta stansburiana Sceloporus magister
Sauromalus obesus Phrynosoma platylais
Rock wren Black-throated sparrow
Lesser nighthawk
We left this area at 1745 and
returned to UCR at 1905, after a trip
of 150 miles for the day. During the
day we saw a total of 52 species
+ heard 1 species that we didn't see.
We also captured the following number
of animals of these species:
masticophis flagellum - 1
Crotalus viridis - 1 (or)
