Mayhew 1959 Journal 39. April 19 Deep Canyon D.R.S., Riverside Co., Calif. The old highway between 1000 Palms and Garnet, we saw a couple of Citellus tetricandus. We reached UCR at 1530 after a total trip of 227 miles. April 23 Mojave Desert, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Frank Aubrey + I left UCR at 1835 and drove to our collecting site at Dale Dry Lake. We might collected from 29 Palms to the dry lake, then north over the crest of Sheep Hole Summit in the Sheep Hole Mountains. We caught one young Phyllorhynchus decurtatus on the road 5 miles east of 29 Palms, but saw nothing else on the road the entire evening. We camped 6'1/2 miles north of Dale Dry Lake near the crest of Sheep Hole Summit at 10 P.M. Then minimum temp. tonight was 60°F. Apr. 24 We arose at 0730 and ate breakfast. Then we drove to our collecting site at Dale Dry Lake, and left the car there at 0935. During the morning and early afternoon a total of 26 lizards of 4 genera and 4 species were captured and kept. In addition, 1 or adult Uma scorpia was released. The break-down of species included: Cristophytus wislizeni- 3 adult ?, 2 adult ♀. Uma scorpia - Urocatus zeissos - 1 adult ?.
