Ruibal left the rest of the group
to go down a different ravine than
the rest, he saw a group of seven
bighorn. The last of the group reached
Tevio's car at 1825. Lloyd took me
back to Nightingale for our car, then
I picked up the rest of the fellows
in Palm Desert. We reached UCR
at 2205.

This morning Frank Aubrey and I
went to our Sceloporus collecting
site. We reached the area at 0930,
and caught our first animal (Sceloporus
occidentalis) at 0940. Several Sceloporus
orecutti (both imm. and adult) were active
at this time, but we were unable to
catch any the entire morning. They
were extremely wary today. However,
we were able to catch 5 adult
Sceloporus occidentalis (4 ?, 1 ?) and
3 Uta stansburiana (2 ?, 1 ?). Nothing
seemed to be active by 1130 (particularly
no S. orecutti), so we quit at 1140.
S. orecutti seemed to be very abundant
earlier in the morning, but I've never
seen them as wary.
