Mayhew 1959 Journal 31. Mar. 21 Colorado Desert, Imperial Co., Calif. Ruddy duck Red - shafted flicker Ring - billed gull Mourning dove Long - billed dowitcher House Finch After leaving Ramer Lake, we drove to Kane Spring and set up camp about 2 miles from Harpers Well. That evening Ed Conry, Bob Duncanon & I tried night collecting on Highway 78 and on the road to Catit Mountain. We saw only 2 Colomyx variegatus & one young Crotalus cerastes. Mar. 22 This morning we left the pick-up at the campsite and drove the 2 Nash Ramblers in to Harpers Well. Then we hiked to the junction of Carrizo & San Felipe Creeks. In this area we saw: Rough - winged swallow Citellus tetricandus Callisaurus draconoides Cnemidophorus tigris Uta stansburiana Sylvilagus audubonii Zonbil quail Yellowthroat Long-billed marsh wren Cinnamon teal Dipodomyx meriemi Scambuaia or Gymnodon Say phoebe Greater yellow - legs
