were captured. A young Dipposaurus
loralis was seen at 1215. We
stopped looking for animals at
1225. We then drove to our Deep
Canyon Desert Research Station to pick
up the sign on the gate to have it
relettered. Someone had taken down
the fence at the east end of the
gate and driven around the gate.
We measured several of the
distances from highway 111 to our
gate by the car's speedometer. These
measurements were as follows:
Highway 111 to corner of main road - 2.9 mi.
Corner of main road t. road junction - 0.4 "
" " " " to east turn - 0.3 "
East turn to gate - 1.7 "
We returned to UCR at 1800 after
a trip of 177 miles.
